Coating Cleaning & Restoring Fences In The Triangle Area
152+ Reviews
As a local professional painter, we make your fence restoration needs a quick and easy process. Applying a generous amount of the best paint or stains guarantees the ultimate protection.
Maintaining exterior wood substrates can be a costly hassle. So, we are careful and detailed in our process and timing. Each surface is thoroughly cleaned and prepared. We also coat wood fences only during dry, warmer seasons.
Contact the pros who have your best interests in mind. We will view the condition and propose a plan of action to deliver the best result, even if we have to wait for more ideal weather.
Wood vs. Metal Fence Protection
New wood fences need painting or staining after they are installed. The lower sections of each panel or slat are close to the ground, absorbing water, and are prone to gathering dirt. Additionally, wood is very porous, and even treated lumber needs protection.
Metal fences require the least maintenance and upkeep. However, the paint starts to fade after 10 to 15 years, and it will need re-coating.
These structures protect the perimeter of your property and provide privacy. While they are not that tall, they are generally long and too much for most homeowners to tackle. However, we make the process go quickly.
Our Process
We spray and backroll when we paint or stain. The fastest and most effective way to paint or stain a fence is to use a sprayer. It also assists in accessing the hard-to-reach edges of each panel.
Backrolling or brushing the paint or stain while it is still wet is an important part of our process. This step creates a uniform finish and boosts durability. It cuts down on both cost and time compared to hand painting, while still offering the same advantages.

Painting & Preparations
A new fence will only need one coat of stain. Older wood will require two coats or more.
The pressure-treated wood requires 2 to 6 months to dry out before painting. A bonding primer is required, along with two generous coats of paint. Older fences are scraped, and any exposed wood gets primed. Depending on the condition, fences that are being repainted will need 1 to 2 coats of paint.
Recoat Wood Fences Every 2 to 5 Years
A fence is a vertical structure that makes it easy for water to shed off the surface. Since surfaces are not subjected to standing water, it helps the finish last longer compared to a floor, for instance.
The top and lower edges of each panel are the most important areas to seal and protect. Sealing these areas will make a wood fence last longer. When the structure is more than 6 feet tall, it will require a step ladder to reach, and these areas are where most painters miss.
Our best-performing exterior wood stains are TWP and PPG Sikkens Prolux. Thick exterior paints like Benjamin Moore Aura Exterior and Sherwin-Williams Emerald seal cracks and gaps in the wood. They are best at preventing water entry.
Hiring us guarantees proper cleaning and restoration and extensive product knowledge. Hiring a professional service helps avoid chipping paint and faded stains. It also keeps mold and mildew from forming.
Knowing When Fences Need Maintenance
Here are the signs that your fence needs repairs. Address these issues to prevent costly damage and replacement.
Wood Fences
- Gray & Aged Wood
- Cracks & Peeling Paint
- Faded Stain
- Black or Green Growth
- Separating or Broken Panels
- Twisted Posts & Large Splits
Metal Fences
- Paint Cracking & Chipping
- Paint Fade
- Rust or Corrosion
Vinyl Fences
- Oxidation (chalky white residue)
Color & UV
Choose your paint or stain colors carefully and consider longevity. UV affects lighter colors less, making them last longer than darker colors. UV, heat, and moisture are the top elements that cause paint and stain to fail.
