As a local company, we also keep travel low by working on homes and businesses in and around the triangle area. But it doesn't stop there. Our eco-friendly painters reduce waste by reusing painting tools and equipment. When available, we purchase plastic or sustainable painting products and containers made of recycled materials. We also reuse the containers used in each painting project.
What are VOCs?
VOC is an abbreviation for Volatile Organic Compound. These photo-chemical compounds affect the air we breathe, creating ground level ozone. VOCs may react in the air we breathe for months and even years, especially when using interior oil based paints. These gases are also emitted by water-based paints, stains, solvents, and other toxin containing products. VOC related air pollution could cause nose, eye, throat or skin irritations. Extensive contact with VOCs could cause liver and kidney cancers, as well as damage to the central nervous system (brain). It could also lead to respiratory problems, headaches and/or nausea.
Shopping Green Products?
If you are looking for the most environmentally safe and durable paints, it is necessary to look for both “Zero-VOC” and “Non-Toxic,” products that use a “Zero-VOC” tinting systems for adding colorant. Many manufactures produce zero VOC lines under false pretense. Most of these claims are for the paint itself and do not apply to the tint or colorant used to make the paint. These zero VOC claims are ultimately false advertising, known as “Greenwashing." Subscribe to our blog for details on products and more!

Having trouble choosing colors?
Stress yourself no further…. trying to choose colors that will work within your home? There is no reason to hire a decorator. With a signed contract, our painting experts will schedule a free color consultation. We will help you find the color that best fits your home. We suggest that you use our color visualizer tool located in the upper right hand corner of each page. The Color visualizer has color samples from both Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams. As you are considering colors, it is important to understand that there is always a slight variation between an ink swatch and an actual paint color. It is always beneficial to get color samples and apply them to multiple areas during this process. Remember to look at all samples in natural sunlight. Unnatural light can give off the wrong undertone of the color.
